Superconducting Oxides Without Copper

Superconductivity up to 30K is observed in Bi-based perovskites, and most recently, a new oxide with Sb and a T sub c of 3.5 was discovered. A critical review will be given, including a broad variety of transport and spectroscopic experiments. The question of phonon or non-phonon mediated superconductivity will be addressed in light of the tendency of Bi and Sb to set up a bond-CDW.
