Superlattices and Long-Range Order in Electrodeposited Dendrites (NOT KNOWN IF PUBLISHED BECAUSE AUTHOR HAS LEFT AT&T)
05 December 1989
We observe the spontaneous re-emergence of long-range order in the electrochemical deposition of the metal dendrites very far from equilibrium. This long-range order appears coincidentally with novel superlattice structures as revealed by high-resolution x-ray and electron diffraction. In order to explain these observations, we propose a simple picture, which we call the "keystone model", for electrocrystallization in the presence of adsorbed hydrogen.
