Surface sensitive x-ray scattering techniques.

An introduction to the basic concepts of grazing incidence x-ray scattering is presented in this paper. The material covered includes: 1.) the basic theory of grazing incidence scattering and x-ray total reflection phenomena, 2.) experimental tests of these theories, and 3.) an outline of experimental applications to date.
