An (001) surface of an Fe 1.7 at % Sn single crystal enriched in Sn due to segregation from the bulk has been studied using Low Energy Ion Scattering (LEIS), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), and Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS). The excess Sn surface concentration was 1.7x10(15) atoms/cm (2). This Sn is demonstrated to be present as a complete layer of Sn atoms in Fe lattice sites with an additional ordered partial layer of Sn.
