This document is planned to become a chapter in the FIA Book 2013. The European FP7 project EARTH lead by Alcatel-Lucent has been invited, thanks to lobbying of involved Alcatel-Lucent colleagues, to provide a summary of the project and its achievements in a dedicated chapter of the FIA Book. The chapter summarizes achievements as already published in more detail in the public deliverables of the project EARTH.
