Synergism of AI and CAD

It is well-known that exploiting a simulation-based approach is a suitable and a reliable way in building CAD systems for test generation (Agrawal and Cheng, 1987). However, it is also well-known that utilization of such techniques can be computationally very expensive (Singh, 1987). This conflict has led to the fruitful synergy between AI and CAD: the combined interaction produced a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual contributions.
