Systems Engineering: Proposing New Products and Services

The talk will concentrate on the roles, functions, and responsibilities of systems engineers. The presentation will focus on the SPP/FSD methodology, and how special studies and analysis are incorporated into the process. The organizations that systems engineering interact with will be discussed -- from the origination of a service or product idea, to the delivery of the final requirements to development. However, the talk will be totally void of acronyms and proprietary methods. The presentation will cover only the general steps involved in the front-end process of product development. Several examples will be used to enhance the understanding of the systems engineering methodology.
