Terpene Hydrocarbon Defluxing of Electronic Assemblies
10 October 1989
Environmental concerns are forcing changes in the present methods of cleaning electronic assemblies. This report describes the development of a new, environmentally benign cleaning process for the manufacture of electronic assemblies. In this process Terpene hydrocarbons are used as a replacement for Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) and chlorinated solvents. The cleaning efffectiveness, safety, and environmental impact of this new process will also be discussed.
