The AR6A Single-Sideband Microwave Radio System: Microwave Carrier Supply

Two microwave carriers are needed in an AR6A+ repeater bay for up and down conversion. These carriers have to be spaced 252 MHz apart and must have low noise, low jitter, and exceptional frequency stability. In the microwave carrier supply, both carriers are derived from a single Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (VCXO)*. An active frequency-multiplier chain generates the 6-GHz carrier for the up con* Bell Laboratories.
