The Challenge in Achieving International ISDN PRI Compatibility (8-5)
This paper surveys the status of ISDN PRI implementation worldwide and summarizes observations on the differences that have arisen in national standards. These differences impact the design of ISDN products as well as multinational ISDN connectivity. In most countries, ISDN BRI applications have been the initial focus of development and application. ISDN PRI, in many countries, has lagged behind somewhat (for example, the draft European NET standards currently address only BRI). National PRI protocols are beginning to be deployed, and implementation differences are becoming clear.
