The Changing Faces of Network Management for Next Generation Networks

In this paper, we first compare two approaches of current network management: ITU-T's recommendations (TMN) and IETF's SNMP Protocol. Then, the changing face of Network Management for Next Generation Networks is presented and discussed. Finally, Policy- Based Network Management (PBNM) as an approach of network management for Next Generation Network s is illuminated.
