The Coexistence of cdmaONE and cdma2000

Service providers are constantly looking for ways to improve their return on investment. One way to accomplish this is to deploy wireless equipment that more efficiently utilizes the available RF spectrum. cdma2000 systems will significantly increase the voice capacity simply by upgrading the hardware and software of existing cdmaOne systems. Coexistence of cdmaOne and cdma2000 service on the same system provides a way to evolve to cdma2000 while protecting investments in cdmaOne systems. This paper describes the methodology to ensure the coexistence of cdmaOne and cdma2000 service.
