The Far Greater Challenge of an AT&T Systems Engineer

Every engineer or technical professional at AT&T is expected to solve problems and issues related to their particular job assignment or job function. An AT&T systems engineer, however, has a far greater challenge; to solve problems and issues that cut across multiple functions (marketing, design, manufacturing, sales, accounting, etc.) with the purpose of impacting the very nature of the way AT&T conducts business. The perspective of an AT&T systems engineer is a global one, in contrast to the more narrow perspective of their "functionalized" engineering counterparts.
