The Fast Decision Process.
In late 1987, AT&T decided to initiate a study of methods to shorten its product realization cycle-times for many of its products and services. A Quality Improvement Project Team was chartered to improve AT&T's Switching System Feature Definition Front-End Process Process. (Front-End Process is an AT&T term for those stages of product or service development that start with the initial conception and end when the new product or service goes into the development phase.)
