The hague telephone network
14 April 1926
The author traces the growth of a system originally planned for a 20,000-line capacity to provide for a 60,000-line capacity. The 7-A. Machine Switching System is used, a particular feature of the system being the principle of register control, which provides facilities for meeting difficult cases of this character. A detailed description is given of the four exchanges involved, each of which is provided with semi-automatic and full automatic lines. A description is also given of the power plant, fault statistics and maintenance of the system.
