The IETF Internet Telephony Architecture and Protocols

(Title originally titled IETF Protocols for IP Telephony) In this paper, we describe the various protocols under development in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) related to IP telephony. In particular, we review the Real Time Transport Protocol, the Session Initiation Protocol, the Session Description Protocol, the Session Announcement Protocol, the Real Time Streaming Protocol, the Call Processing Language, and the Gateway Location Protocol.
