The intelligent inhouse ambient of the future is comfortable and intelligent, more than we can imagine today. Control is enabled by mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) or the Internet. Broadband communication platforms like digital subscriber line (xDSL) or cable networks with *always-on' features can open access to our residential ambient from work or even from our car. We can feel more safe and comfortable. Today we are faced with new technologies in the field of entertainment, Internet and mobile. The challenge is to merge these technologies to one platform, enabling access to your intelligent home from everywhere. The key issues are networking, services, interoperability and standards.
