The Liaison Document Browser

The Liason Document Browser is a vehicle for exploring the design and use of broadband document storage and retrieval systems. It provides access to the scanned images of approximately 10,000 AT&T Bell Laboratories internal memoranda via the BBFS broadband file server, the HPC interconnect, the LuckyNet broadband network and the Liaison network multimedia workstation. This system allows document browsing at rates up to 20 page images per second. It also provides broad based distribution of these documents via the corporate internet which consists mainly of Ethernet networks inter- connected by gateways.
