This lecture reviews some recent developments in the experimental aspects of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) such as the observation of the integral QHE in quasi three-dimensional systems, the magnetic field dependence of the energy gaps in the fractional QHE and the absence of even-denominator quantization in the lowest Landau level.
