The Use of Brushing and Rotation for Data Analysis
01 January 1987
Brushing and rotation are two dynamics graphical methods for studying multidimensional data. We implemented the methods on a high-performance graphics workstation to study their properties by using them in the analysis of a large number of data sets. In this paper we describe (1) features of the methods that we have useful during data analysis; (2) data analysis tasks for which each method has particular strengths. The workstation used in the implementation is a Silicon Graphics IRIS-2400T.
