The VIVID(TM) teleconferencing system answers the need for a high-quality, full-motion, customer-switched and customer-controlled video teleconferencing system that is economical for metropolitan and regional applications. To this end, it draws upon the lastest technology in wideband switching, video compression, lightwave transmission and real-time network control software, and at significantly lower cost than prior systems.
