Video teleconferencing is a special case of videotelephony where, in general, the participants number two or more, as may the active sites in a conference. Ideally, the participants at a site are arrayed about a conference table in comfortable surroundings facing one or more television monitors displaying a subset of their opposite numbers as well as one or more television cameras which are relaying their images.
