There is currently a great deal of interest in "data mining" applications, where a large source of data is mined for useful knowledge. For example, public health officials may wish to search a medical records database to identify groups that could benefit from certain education campaigns. Programmers may want to search through the source code of a large software system, to develop a model of it to aid in comprehension and documentation [11].
