Trends in the bistable properties of iron-acceptor pairs in silicon.

Iron-acceptor pairs in silicon exhibit configurational bistability, as many recently discovered semiconductor point defects. However, we think we understand for the first time in this case what the two defect configurations are, and how the metastability works. We discuss this understanding in this paper, in the light of experimental data collected for iron-aluminum, -gallium and- indium pairs.
