Two-Moment Approximation for a Finite-Buffer Queue

Models of finite-buffer queues are useful to describe communication systems and, more recently, also manufacturing systems. A stand- alone G/GI/x/y queue has a general stationary input process, general independent identically distributed service times, x servers and y waiting positions. In this paper we assume a stand-alone G/G/x/y queue with the FCFS discipline and arrivals are lost when all buffers are occupied.
