Previously, Adrián was part of the team that led the unification of the transport networks of Telecom and Cablevisión, a key milestone in network transformation. He also led the design and development of Telecom’s current network automation platform, enabling higher levels of programmability, integration, and operational agility across the transport domain. In addition, he served as Fixed Access Network Engineering Manager at Telecom Argentina, where he led the early FTTH and FTTC network designs. Throughout his career, he has held senior technical roles at carrier grade network operators, including Telecom Argentina and Telefónica Argentina, as well as at leading technology vendors such as Alcatel, giving him a balanced perspective across both operator and vendor environments. He also holds an MBA in Project Management from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and has been a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since September 2025.
He has extensive experience in the deployment of infrastructure projects and optical systems across Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), State-wide Data Backbones (Infovias), and OPGW networks for the integration of the RNP (Brazilian National Research and Educational Network) Backbone.
His hands-on background encompasses telecommunications networks, optical network rollout, technical feasibility analysis, and the development of management reports. He specializes in the planning of optical infrastructure projects, including schedule management, cost control, and the execution of optical network deployments and DWDM systems.
Currently, he serves as a Project Coordinator at the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP), managing the implementation of Metropolitan Networks for the ""Connected Cities"" Program, State-wide Data Backbones for the ""Conecta"" Program, and the 7th Generation DWDM Backbone systems in partnership with Axia Energia.

Diego Teot is a senior executive with over two decades of experience in the global telecommunications industry.  He began his career working on early streaming and Internet connectivity solutions in the Mediterranean region before joining Retelit in 2003.  Today, as Head of OTT, Media & Telco, he leads the company’s infrastructure business, overseeing international submarine networks, high-performance data centers, colocation services, and an extensive fiber backbone. In this role, he is driving the continued growth and consolidation of Retelit as a key partner for global carriers, OTTs, hyperscalers, and enterprises.

He is an Associate Professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a founder of QoolNet, a knowledge-based spin-off created from technologies and expertise developed at UPM. Since joining the Information and Quantum Computing Group (GIICC) through a postdoctoral fellowship, he has participated in 26 competitive research projects funded by public and private institutions, including several FET Flagship initiatives. He has played a key role as Technical Lead and SDN Architect in a number of quantum communications projects, most notably MadQCI, one of the largest and most heterogeneous quantum communication networks in Europe. In this context, he has led a 17-member team at UPM, overseeing the integration of all system components and ensuring their correct operation. He has authored more than 70 international publications and is the inventor of several national patents currently under consideration for international extension. He is also a founding partner and CTO of QoolNet, a company built upon the knowledge and technology generated through the research projects in which he has been involved. In addition, he has directly contributed to the design and implementation of several ETSI standards related to quantum communications, including ETSI GS QKD 004, 014, 015, and 018. These standards have already been adopted by industry, with the first two implemented by multiple QKD device manufacturers and the latter two by telecommunications operators.

Oriol Bertran Pardo

Oriol Bertran Pardo obtained his PhD from Télécom Paris in electrical engineering. His research work dealt with optical-communication systems, focusing on the physical propagation, for building high-speed long-haul WDM optical transmissions based on coherent detection. After joining development as R&D system engineer and then as product line manager, he contributed to the advanced engineering rules for WDM transmission of the Alcatel-Lucent next generation photonic network architectures. He is currently product line manager of subsystems and DSP in Nokia Optics Business Group.

He has authored and co-authored more than 80 conference and journal contributions, totaling more than 1,500 citations, and holds 13 patents. Among the publications done during his PhD, one was awarded an IEEE student grant and obtained the Photonics21 award. He deserved the Bell Labs president award in 2010 for his contribution and insights on the development of the first 100G coherent solution. He is also a distinguished member of technical staff since 2019.

In this role, he leads strategy and roadmap execution across the portfolio, which spans Network Management, Planning Tools, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), subsea automation, and AI-driven initiatives.  With more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, Caetano has held a variety of senior leadership positions within the OSS domain. He began his career in 2002 at Siemens, working in the Optical Networks group as a Project Manager. Since then, he has held roles in program management, R&D leadership, and product management, building a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of delivering customer value.  He played a pivotal role in launching Coriant’s SDN initiatives, spearheading development of the company’s first WAN SDN product demonstration, presented at OFC in San Francisco in March 2014. A strong advocate for software automation, he continues to champion its role in driving openness, simplifying operations, and enabling new revenue streams. With more than 3 decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, Sylvain has extensive knowledge of secure optical communication systems and expertise of fiber-optics communication. He is also working with Nokia Bell Labs to define, productize state-of-the-art techniques and algorithms for estimating, monitoring transmission quality, and focusing on the emerging field of Quantum-Safe Networks, a solution for securing the digital infrastructure of the future.  Before joining Nokia, Sylvain was leveraging leading edge technology defining Roadmaps and Strategies for key platform pillars of telecom platforms: Networking, Virtualization, Security, Availability, Software Management and Central Configuration. From 2015, he joined Alcatel-Lucent in the core Product Line Management team being the principal Product Line Manager of Secure Management Systems for microwave and Optical transmission line systems.
