Greater China is expected to become the world’s largest 5G market. In this exciting market, we will continuously support our service provider and enterprise customers to win in the 5G and digitalization era.
Driving innovation
We invest significantly in communication technology R&D to drive innovation across entire networks. In Greater China we have 6 major technology centers and 1 Nokia Bell Labs innovation center dedicated to R&D activities where customers can engage in hands-on experiences.

Our Shanghai facility, founded in the late 1980s and located in Jinqiao, east of Shanghai, is home to a Technology Center and a Nokia Bell Labs location, with about 500 research colleagues.

Beijing Technology Center was founded in late 1990s, now has about 500 research staff and locates in Wangjing, Chaoyang district.

Chengdu Technology Center was founded in 1999 and now has over 500 employees.

Hangzhou Technology Center was founded in 2002, now with more than 3,700 talented R&D professionals, and locates in Hightech Camp, Binjiang District.

Nanjing Technology Center was founded in 2003 and now has 600 R&D employees, locates in Changjiang Technology Park, Gulou District.
Qingdao Technology Center was established in 1995, now with approximately 830 engineers.
