The phase transition of U(2)Zn(17) at 9.7K has been investigated by neutron powder diffraction.

We report measurements of static magnetic susceptibilities for a series of strontium substituted lanthanum copper oxides prepared under identical conditions.

Single crystal magnetic rare earth superlattices were synthesized by molecular beam epitaxy. The studies include four rare earth systems: Gd-Y, Dy-Y, Ho-Y, and Gd-Dy.

Thin film memories are stated to be the best as far as high speed performance is concerned when compared with other techniques. Access time is only limited by the associated electronic circuits.

We have confined over 5x10 sup (12) atoms of hydrogen in a static magnetic trap. The atoms are loaded into the trap by precooling with a dilution refrigerator.

Experimental studies of ferromagnetic materials by means of magnetic X-ray diffraction are reviewed. Such studies have exploited the tunability of the energy and polarization of photon beams.

Using the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source, measurements have been made of the change in intensity of a Bragg reflection and its harmonics when the magnetization perpendicular to the scatteri

Resonant enhancement of the magnetic x-ray scattering cross-section in antiferromagnetic UAs has been investigated by tuning the incident x-ray energy through the uranium M sub (III), M sub (IV) an

The modulation in the magnetic moment and in the interplanar spacing (strain) in the superlattice [Gd(21)Y(21)]X40 has been determined using synchrotron and rotating anode X-ray sources.

The magnetic field dependence of the quantum critical fluctuations close to the antiferromagnetic transition in CeCu5.9Au0.1 is investigated directly by neutron scattering at TAS7 in Riso in a hori
