Our advanced technical solutions and mobile broadband help to reduce the impact of natural disasters, and limit the effects of emergency situations. The mission critical technologies we supply to the emergency services, fire brigade, ambulance, police and search and rescue are enabling the transformation and modernization of critical services. Our Saving Lives solution helps manage the aftermath of natural and manmade disasters.
Public protection and disaster relief. In April 2019, we launched the world's first Mission Critical Communication (MCC)-ready LTE network in the recently opened up 410-430 MHz band. The network was opened in the Czech Republic with Nordic Telecom. This agreement means the operator will be able to ramp up public protection and disaster relief efforts with innovative services made possible by mobile broadband networks.
Improved disaster response. In November 2018 we announced our cooperation with Smart Communications and the Philippine Red Cross who will deploy Nokia Drone Networks solution to aid in disaster response. This is the first commercial deployment of the Nokia Saving Lives solution.
Combating crime. In March 2019, we announced cooperation with Room40 who will use our machine-learning powered video, audio and IoT analytics to flag emergencies and crime at service stations, parking lots and construction sites. Highway service stations are often the site of vandalism, theft and coordinated drug and human trafficking.
The public safety opportunity. Customers want something more from their suppliers and it's not just about good value for money. Customers want to know that their operator is a good company - that as well as offering them something, it also offers something to society at large. They want their service suppliers to be socially responsible. It's time to form a network-boosting partnership that enables better public services.
